The Innovation Partnership Programme can provide up to 80% of the cost of research work towards the development of new and improved products, processes or services, or generate new knowledge and know-how.
Driving Innovation in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
The PMTC is focused on delivering industry directed core research outputs within three core research pillars, with each pillar chosen to deliver tangible results to some of the most contemporary challenges present in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector in Ireland.
Now approaching the mid-point in its second funding phase from Enterprise Ireland, the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technology Centre (PMTC), based at University of Limerick, is continually expanding its offering to the Irish pharmaceutical manufacturing landscape. While placing focused emphasis on collaborative engagement with its industrial partners, the Centre is strategically positioned to address real-world challenges arising within the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, while furthermore ensuring that the needs of this important sector are supported into the future.
Sitting at the interface of industry and academia, the PMTC supports the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and its supply chain to solve problems, while differentiating itself by focusing on industry-informed research, where programs are driven by real market needs defined by industry.
Led by an Industry Steering Committee with an active research program and championed by its industry members, the PMTC is well placed to support companies across the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector in optimizing their manufacturing facilities within the framework of its three core research areas:
- Pharmaceutical Plant Cleaning - including containment, changeover, and validation;
- Process control and optimization;
- Applied data utilization/analytics
