Dr Amol Ganjare

Amol is a postdoctoral associate with the Multiphase Reactor and Intensification Group (mRING) at the Bernal Institute lead by Prof. Vivek Ranade, PMTC Academic Sponsor. Previously, he served as a Senior Engineer in R&D at Tridiagonal Solutions, Pune, India, where he contributed to developing multiphase solvers for computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (formerly UDCT), under the supervision of Prof. Ashwin W. Patwardhan. His doctoral research focused on the design aspects of gravity settlers, employing both experimental techniques, like ultrasonic velocity profiling, and multiphase CFD models to explore solids-liquid interactions.

Currently, Amol's research focuses on developing and scaling up intensified devices for multiphase operations, aiming to transition batch processes to continuous flow reactors for producing 1 kg/day of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) using lab-scale reactors.

His work with PMTC enables collaborating with Maynooth University, SSPC, and Janssen Pharmaceutical on developing a Dynochem-based methodology for the design, optimization, and scale-up of continuous reactors, particularly for the neutralization of acidic waste stream.
