Dr Alex Krok, PMTC Research Fellow, CIT, in receipt of Charlemont Grant, Royal Irish Academy

Dr Alex Krok, PMTC Research Fellow, CIT successfully made the 2018 class of Charlemont Scholars, this prestigious grant is awarded by the Royal Irish Academy. Prof Michael Peter Kennedy, President of the Royal Irish Academy, presented the 2018 Charlemont scholars recently with their certificates. Prof Kennedy noted the importance of the award as they are designed to act as a career springboard by assisting scholars in strengthening their international mobility and developing international collaborative networks. The Charlemont Grants are unique in offering funding for short international research trips, to support primary research in any area. Alex Krok will be fostering strong collaboration with the researchers from the UK and USA to progress his current research in the area of Powder Modelling for Pharmaceutical Tabletting (in conjunction with Dr Sandra Lenihan and Dr Keith Byran in CIT). The University of Surrey, UK and University of Dexrel, USA host Research Centres in the areas of powder processing and modelling, respectively and is a fantastic opportunity for international collaboration for the PMTC
